The Hero of Time-
Hark Ye, the epic of the most courageous of men!
Kings and demons of evil taint strike out in vain.
The green garbed guardian, the hero of time,
Blessed by the heavens, he wields the holy sword,
Appearing to banish evil with the grace of Gods.
Appearing to banish evil with the grace of Gods.
In the most desolate scar of the lands of Hyrule,
Shifting sands shroud the lawless Gerudo.
Among these black souled brigands cursed by the Gods
To bear but daughters for their sins against men
A man of power is born, his first battle cries echoing across the land
A man of power is born, his first battle cries echoing across the land
Demonic sinspawn kneeling before their newborn master.
Darkness falls over the Kingdom, winds howling the name of utter evil
Ganondorf! Ganondorf! Ganondorf!
As corrupt calamity strikes into the world
The Green warrior begins; a foundling deserted and forsaken,
The Green warrior begins; a foundling deserted and forsaken,
Along the endless trunks of the Ancients.
Spirits of Nature saw in him the touch of the divine
And raised this human as one of their own,
Teaching him the ways of swords and Righteousness
In gratitude, he dons the colors of the forest
In gratitude, he dons the colors of the forest
Breathing life and death on sacred land.
Hell forged evil continues its fevered plight,
Dark miasma reaching even holy lands.
The boy is called before the most ancient of spirits,
A towering monolith known to mortals as the Deku Tree.
A towering monolith known to mortals as the Deku Tree.
Nature's envoy beseeches the figure of man
Asking the boy if he will take up arms
The Kingdom of Men his to save or damn.
Broken bark slides apart revealing a sword set in stone,
Emblazoned with the sign of the Gods.
Emblazoned with the sign of the Gods.
The hero grabs the hilt accepting their call:
Oh mighty Din, grant me the power to vanquish evil
Brave Faroue, guide my steps with bottomless courage
Gentle Nayru, let me lead with wisdom.
He draws the holy blade, the blessings of the gods
He draws the holy blade, the blessings of the gods
Manifested in their blinding symbol
Emanating with righteous fury from the back of his hand.
He sets off, demons baring his driven pursuit,
Brutish beasts battle without end.
Reveling in torment, providing no time for food or rest
Reveling in torment, providing no time for food or rest
Weary, the hero continues on as evil's bane
Leaving naught but monstrous corpses in his wake.
Numbers swell against him, all meeting a united fate,
A flash of wind liberating them from their earthly ties.
At last he approaches the source of depravity,
At last he approaches the source of depravity,
Perched on his stolen throne, Ganondorf waits.
Vile monstrosities are slashed apart and at long last they are met.
No words exchanged, both the antithesis of the other.
Their swords clash, dueling in disturbing harmony.
Graceful arcs slice the air; the crossing of blades
Graceful arcs slice the air; the crossing of blades
Cutting apart the land and sky.
A decisive moment, the hero stabs-
And his blade juts out of his fearsome foe.
But the fight is just begun.
Black void spews from his ruptured hide
Black void spews from his ruptured hide
Calling forth his demonic familiars,
Grotesquely absorbed into his very being.
Coalesced into one, the united evils of the entire land.
The great beast charges, twirling its spears of bone
The hero raises his sliver of light, unfaltering
The hero raises his sliver of light, unfaltering
Knowing evil to be helpless before the might of the gods.
A single slash, a resounding thump.
The Evil banished, before divine wrath.
The heavens resound with the praise of men,
The hero hailed as our blessed savior.
The hero hailed as our blessed savior.
Wordless he leaves, knowing his fight is not over.
With time will come another,
Evil reborn in the hearts of men
The evil and the righteous, doomed
To tangle before the Gods for all Ages.
To tangle before the Gods for all Ages.
